The Moon is our very own tube-light!!

"Draw the blind please!" I begged. Then I jerked back into reality. My bedroom had been my very own terrace the night before! I woke up to the sounds of chirping birds, the warm sun-kissed breeze and breakfast literally in the open! And it was only the night before when I last said goodnight to the burning moon! I haven't been raised in the north, where sleeping on the terrace is something of a matter-of-fact issue. And since it is done so often, they sleep on charpoys (cots with four legs). Here I had to make the experience worthwhile! Being the last two days of my nephew being at home, I had to make his trip worth remembering. So along with baking him Oreo cupcakes and white-chocolate filled home-made, scrumptious chocolates, I decided that we should all spend the night on the terrace and in style! So we bought out our beds, laid out two side-tables, drank up some coke float and danced to music played on the laptop! Lying down beneath the stars and t...

The Morning That Was...

I've never really been up at/till 6.30 in the morning! Today was probably one of those days! Oh I’m not yet into yoga or anything, and not even practising for any upcoming married life! Maybe it’s the Red Bull or it’s probably even psychological! Either way, I made the best of that morning! I started by pouring myself a tall glass of orange juice (No, it wasn’t freshly squeezed orange juice, but Tropicana was the closest I could get!) I then walked up slowly to my terrace, balancing the orange juice in one hand and the laptop in the other. By the way, this was at 5-something in the morning, so I was still in exploratory surfaces. The plan was to just to take a quick peek at what the morning felt like at that hour, but apparently that wasn’t the plan after I stepped foot onto the terrace! It was probably the serene calm or probably even the light breeze that kissed my face. It could have also been that excited group of birds flying back home. It was definitely something t...

A mother is...

I'm not usually the kind who marks days and dates celebrated around the world; or even pinpoint a day to celebrate any sort of love. But I think, on Mother's Day it doesn't harm if you pamper your mother and shower her with just a little bit of that extra love! So go ahead and bake her a cake, take her out if your culinary skills are not something to brag about, or just sit and talk to her! It is a very normal day, but it's her day! So that's just what I did! To end with, this is a little story I came across on the Internet the other day, which I thought I could share with all of you'll... M-O-T-H-E-R "M" is for the million things she gave me, "O" means only that she's growing old, "T" is for the tears she shed to save me, "H" is for her heart of purest gold; "E" is for her eyes, with love-light shining, "R" means right, and right she'll always be, Put them all together, they spell ...

Namma Metro in Bengaluru!

After many months of, well, struggling rather hard at my workplace and thus not giving enough time to my blog, I now find myself in the land of gardens and now the land of Namma Metro! Only months after it began I consider myself among the lucky 10,000 to experience the much awaited Metro ride in Bangalore. And it was definitely worth the wait! So, how was it all? Smooth as hell! As of now, the Metro operates only in seven stations- from M.G. road to Byanapalli and it takes just about 15 minutes and costs just Rs.15! With sparkling clean interiors that is comfortably air-conditioned, there is adequate space to sit and stand. There are even small TV screens displaying educational content, while the male and female announcers are continuously announcing either the station names or regular instructions. To maintain this level of cleanliness, no food or drink is allowed anywhere on the Metro or any of the stations. Without further ado, let's bring out the visuals!! First view ...
