Our Tryst with no Television!

Can you imagine living with no television ever since we shifted into our new house? Ever since meaning, almost a whole pregnancy term! So this whole time we had dramatic phrases being thrown into the air such as- "In the land of no television!", and “TV! Oh, what is that?". So much so, that with a TV being sighted in other's homes, I'm pretty sure our tongues hung out while we stared! Okay, that's a cheap exaggeration of the situation but it was definitely a sight for sore eyes! Our house help though, were most stunned with the no-TV situation and wondered aloud how we were surviving. And when told that only one TV was being put up, that came out to be a total shocker for them! Time passed and when everyone in the family heard that this prized piece of possession was being restored its honour, they said - "Let there be light" and "This is what getting back to civilization feels like!"  One would have thought that we were living in a co...

Is that silver lining close enough?

(A post I had written far back in the time. when I was only 21, and something I should have released a while ago!) This particular post has been inspired from something I read recently. Being a confused 21-yr old is probably not a new phenomena, but it's definitely new for every recently turned 21-yr old individual! It's that time of your life when you're not sure if life is being a bitch only to you or the world over. You often wonder where you lie at... Sometimes you gain clarity over the silliest of things, yet sometimes it feels like someone's used a gigantic eraser to blur your life out! The only clarity I have in recent times is that I'm on a break and I can see something very positive at the end of the horizon- a silver lining of sorts. And it's a gorgeous one I must say! But not everyone stretches far enough to see that. I think it's okay. A year back, no matter how much I stretched it was the same old, dark and disappearing shades of the suns...
