"Draw the blind please!" I begged. Then I jerked back into reality. My bedroom had been my very own terrace the night before! I woke up to the sounds of chirping birds, the warm sun-kissed breeze and breakfast literally in the open! And it was only the night before when I last said goodnight to the burning moon!
I haven't been raised in the north, where sleeping on the terrace is something of a matter-of-fact issue. And since it is done so often, they sleep on charpoys (cots with four legs). Here I had to make the experience worthwhile! Being the last two days of my nephew being at home, I had to make his trip worth remembering. So along with baking him Oreo cupcakes and white-chocolate filled home-made, scrumptious chocolates, I decided that we should all spend the night on the terrace and in style! So we bought out our beds, laid out two side-tables, drank up some coke float and danced to music played on the laptop!
Lying down beneath the stars and the shimmering moon is an experience in itself- something that I am going to try very hard to describe in this post, but probably unsuccessfully, only because each one's experience will be very different. And no matter how many adjectives I use or how splendid it may seem to me, I conclude that it is a bucket-list item for sure and has to be experienced at least once by everyone. And frankly, even though it's always nice to spend it with loved ones around or interesting company, this is something that one seems to enjoy alone as well. "You've seen it in the movies, now let's see if it's true...!" Here's to say that this is an experience that is true to its cause and most definitely not over-rated!
Just a few points to take note of-

Just a few points to take note of-
- It's not a camping trip, so don't go all out!
- Do not forget to apply Odomos!
- Don't try and act brave cos it's freaking cold!
- Chill out, relax and just have fun!
- Oh, and make peace with the sky because you need to prepared to be woken up by nature! :P
Excellent post!Reminded me of mere bachpan ke din when we use sleep on the terrace.trying to figure the constellation patterns and telling horror stories were the best TPs then..;)Thanks for reminding me of the "good old days"!. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks! If there were more people then it would have been a party of sorts.. However, this helped me collect a lot of thoughts. It's great to connect with nature just once in a while!
