LOCKDOWN LOVE

It's the time of CoVid. We all know this only too well ! But hey, if you're reading this many many years down the line, I think it would be only right to explain the situation we are in today.

Year 2020 has been somewhat of a downer. Early December, a virus named Corona hit humanity like a big punch. What started in Wuhan, China, slowly spread throughout the world like wildfire. A pandemic was what it was categorized as, soon after. A virus that was so tiny but killed millions of people in a span of just 4 months and counting! As I pen this down, we are still fighting this with no vaccine in sight.

But in extreme situations of negativity, a silvery ray of positivity always finds its way to come floating to the top. You just need to be able to swim far enough to see it! Here are some positive vibes I have picked up during the lockdown.

  1. Family Time
Literally being stuck here in Bombay and not being able to go back home to Singapore, allowed us to reconnect and bond with family, like old times. Being able to spend so much time with everyone at home, really made me understand that it isn't at difficult to be adjusting and caring to everyone's needs.

As family members all locked down under the same roof, we learnt to build a routine to our day which started becoming our new normal! Be it cooking, cleaning or catching up on office work, there was a time that was naturally set to everything. Not everyone was as privileged to be able to do that so we took the opportunity to use the time wisely instead of complaining.

  2. Never take ANYTHING for granted
As we started adjusting to our routine of comfortably being stuck at home, lives around us started to crumble. Those who could not afford to stay at home, started leaving their houses and literally jumping into danger of being infected just so that they could sustain themselves. At this point in time, you realise and remember to not take any minute of our lives for granted. While we sit in our ivory towers and watch the world struggle to keep afloat, we forget to thank the higher power to allow us to enjoy the freedom that we are privileged to be allowed to have.

  3. Pause, breathe and take in everything
There comes a time in life where you just want to stop and take a break from routine life. Nature unknowingly handed this to us on our plates which made everybody forcibly stop to look around and breathe in a bit of life. So do this every once in a while- stop whatever it is that you are doing at that moment, go stand near the window and try to look beyond the horizon. Watch the world do its thing, while you are just a mere observer. Throw some love into the universe and watch as it comes back to you.

  4. Focus on a skill
They say you can go back to an ignored passion or ignite an interest to learn something new. I haven't explored this option to the fullest just as yet, but hey, does getting back to blogging count?! Show your skills some love and pamper them so that they have a chance to shine! I still have some time more to allow myself to do this.

  5. Help people out
You don't always have to make huge charitable contributions in order to feel like you've contributed to a cause. The basic idea is to help another human being in whatever way possible-monetarily, physically or even emotionally, which today, many people The next step is to move out and contribute to complete strangers. However, if you are in the position to do both, then great! You can show everybody some love!

In the hope that everything will get back to how it was or whether it means embracing the new normal, continuing these five skills is something I would like to do. Let's see where life takes all of us.☺

Namma Metro in Bengaluru!

After many months of, well, struggling rather hard at my workplace and thus not giving enough time to my blog, I now find myself in the land of gardens and now the land of Namma Metro! Only months after it began I consider myself among the lucky 10,000 to experience the much awaited Metro ride in Bangalore. And it was definitely worth the wait! So, how was it all? Smooth as hell! As of now, the Metro operates only in seven stations- from M.G. road to Byanapalli and it takes just about 15 minutes and costs just Rs.15! With sparkling clean interiors that is comfortably air-conditioned, there is adequate space to sit and stand. There are even small TV screens displaying educational content, while the male and female announcers are continuously announcing either the station names or regular instructions. To maintain this level of cleanliness, no food or drink is allowed anywhere on the Metro or any of the stations. Without further ado, let's bring out the visuals!! First view ...

To Town and Back...!

"What's wrong," she asked. I looked at her curiously and said, "Absolutely nothing! Why would there be something wrong on a day like this?" Confused? I am talking about the stunning weather that Bombay is experiencing this very minute! Light blue clouds and windy skies; can it get any better? While I was lying around on the ' katta' just staring into nothingness, my sister seemed to have got a little worried about my condition! Our morning started early, giving us more hours in this day. We stepped out of home at 7 only to drive to town and meet a certain gentleman at the Taj. Following which our hungry tummies were satisfied by a scrumptious breakfast at Cafe Mondegar! Bacon, eggs, sausages...the works! We even had a group of Harley hurlers give us company at breakfast, only to ride off into the sunset?! No wait, that is a completely wrong image! It's more like them to snarl off into the busy, robust streets of Mumbai and then onto some wide hi...
